Manufactured Home Upgrades
Seal in savings and save energy
PSO’s Manufactured Homes program provides FREE energy-efficient upgrades at no additional cost to homeowners or residents to help seal in energy savings year-round.
What’s offered in the program?
This PSO program covers the cost of energy-saving measures for qualifying all-electric manufactured homes (valued at roughly $850-$1,200). A home energy assessment will be completed by a First Star Energy representative to determine eligibility and identify which energy-efficient measures can be installed.
*Additional home qualification criteria may apply. Funding is limited, and provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Direct Install Measures
Home Energy Assessment
A First Star Energy certified field technician will perform an energy assessment of your home at no cost in order to identify ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Upon completion of the assessment, the technician will provide you with a summary of energy-saving recommendations.
Energy-Efficient Showerheads
Low-flow showerheads use 40% less water than standard showerheads, which means less energy used to heat water for showers. First Light Energy will replace all eligible showerheads in your home with new, efficient showerheads.
Kitchen & Bathroom Faucet Aerators
First Star Energy will install energy-efficient faucet aerators in your kitchen and bathrooms. Made of long-lasting materials, the aerators use approximately 31% less water than a standard faucet. That means less energy* used for water heating.
*Savings will vary with efficiency of water heating system, temperature of incoming and outgoing water, and the number of occupants in the home.
Duct Sealing
A duct system that is well designed and properly sealed can make your home more comfortable, energy efficient and safer. Duct sealing is available for homes with heating and cooling systems whose ductwork is leaking significantly.
Air Sealing
Reducing the amount of air that leaks in and out of your home is a cost-effective way to cut heating and cooling costs year-round. Air sealing is available for homes with heating and cooling systems whose envelope is leaking significantly.
HVAC Tune-up
An HVAC tune-up helps a home’s heating and cooling system run more efficiently and provides better comfort while lowering energy costs. This is achieved by a certified technician cleaning your system and adjusting refrigerant charge.
How does the program work?
- The Manufactured Homes program begins with an energy assessment to determine program eligibility and program measures that are best suited for your home. This energy assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of your home’s energy usage and will include diagnostic testing of your heating and air conditioning ductwork.
- After the energy assessment, the First Star Energy technician will review recommended upgrades with you. Upon your approval, work begins right away!
- After energy-efficient measures have been installed, the technician will once again perform diagnostic testing to ensure that everything is working properly and will report the improvements directly to PSO.
