Shine a Light Project

At PSO, we see ourselves as more than just a utility company. We view our community as more than just our customers.

That’s why we’re always seeking ways to make a difference in our neighbors’ lives. The Shine a Light Project partners with food banks and pantries across PSO’s service area to provide assistance to families in need.

Shining a Light on Food Insecurity

Since 2014, the Shine a Light Project has partnered with several local food banks and pantries in the PSO service territory to help families in need to lighten their financial load. Here’s how it works: Each year PSO donates energy-efficient LED light bulbs to our food bank partners to help families save money on their utility bills — money they could use to help feed their families.

Providing a Ray of Hope for Oklahomans in Need

PSO has donated over 750,000 energy-efficient bulbs since 2014. The amount of energy saved from this program has reached approximately 16 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually — the equivalent to the total energy use of over 1,200 homes.
