Despite the name, heat pump systems both heat and cool your home! Unlike traditional furnace and air conditioners that generate heat, heat pumps transfer heat between the outside and inside of the home using the expansion of the refrigerant — efficiently providing comfortable temperatures for your home all year round. SEER2 (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio 2) is the ratio developed when the cooling output of the system over an average cooling season is divided by the total energy used. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy efficient the equipment is. A higher SEER can result in lower energy costs.
Homes must be located within the PSO service territory with a valid PSO account number and proposed upgrades have not been previously incentivized by a PSO energy efficiency service. Mobile Homes, Manufactured Homes and Multifamily installations do not qualify.
